Janey HAGGER
Janey Hagger trained at Chelsea and The Byam Shaw School of Art. She is primarily interested in the monumental - relating landscape and the everyday objects within the landsacpe and playing with the juxtoposition of the two. Recently her work has involved a residency on the Isle of Colonsay, off the West Coast of Scotland, and extensive stays in Morocco.
The Road to Walter's House: a set of six small canvases that will be shown in our Summer Farrago is painted in Colonsay a remote Hebridean island with a population of 90 people. This series of small canvases is the voyage up a beautiful lane past the huge sweep of Kiloran Bay to the house of Walter. Walter is famous on the island for driving a bright red classic Massey Ferguson tractor, and producing the best duck and hen eggs on the island!
